Heterogeneous Anthropomorphic Phantoms with Realistic Dielectric Properties for Microwave Breast Imaging Experiments.
We present a technique for fabricating realistic breast phantoms for microwave imaging experiments. Using oil-in-gelatin dispersions that mimic breast tissue dielectric properties at microwave frequencies, we constructed four heterogeneous phantoms spanning the full range of volumetric breast densities. We performed CT scans and dielectric properties measurements to characterize each phantom.
متن کاملHomogeneous and Heterogeneous Breast Phantoms for Ultra-wideband Microwave Imaging Applications
The paper discusses fabrication of homogenous and heterogeneous breast phantoms to simulate the dielectric properties of human breast over the microwave frequency range from 0.5GHz to 13.5GHz. The breast phantoms have stable mechanical configuration and dielectric properties suitable for microwave imaging experiments particularly ultra-wideband microwave imaging for breast cancer detection.

متن کاملUWB Microwave Breast Cancer Detection Using SAR
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Early detection increases the chances of successful treatment and a patients long term health. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) Microwave imaging is a technique that uses wide bandwidth electromagnetic signals to see through the internal structure of the breast. It detects and localizes cancer tumors based on the high dielectric...
متن کاملHeterogeneous Breast Phantom Development for Microwave Imaging Using Regression Models
As new algorithms for microwave imaging emerge, it is important to have standard accurate benchmarking tests. Currently, most researchers use homogeneous phantoms for testing new algorithms. These simple structures lack the heterogeneity of the dielectric properties of human tissue and are inadequate for testing these algorithms for medical imaging. To adequately test breast microwave imaging a...
